SIFL selected best performing industry

Steel and Industrial Forgings Ltd (SIFL), Thrissur was selected as the best performing industry in the State.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Steel and Industrial Forgings Ltd (SIFL), Thrissur, has been selected as the best performing industry under the Industries and Commerce Department, and SIFL CEO Cdr (Retd) K.Shamsuddin has bagged the award for best corporate leadership.

 The State Government has instituted the awards as part of strengthening PSUs and rewarding meritorious performances.

 The other awards are as follows: Corporate Leadership - Notable achievement: A.K.Luke, CMD, Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd., Chavara, Kollam.

 Corporate Leadership - Special Award: S.Venkadeesawaran, MD, Transformers and Electricals Kerala Ltd., Angamali.

 Corporate Leadership - Special Award: A Devakinandanan, CMD, Kerala Ceramics Ltd., Kundara, Kollam.

 Pollution abatement award: Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd., Chavara, Kollam.

 Journalists’ award for Industry Reporting: R.Jayaprasad, Sub-Editor, Mathrubhumi Daily, Thiruvananthapuram.

 The Public Sector Restructuring & Internal Audit Bureau (RIAB) is organising the `Award Ceremony 2008’ for State Public Sector Units on February 24 at the Tagore Theatre here. Governor R.S.Gavai will give away the awards.
