IIITM-K students get placement offers from TCS

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Postgraduate students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management - Kerala (IIITM-K) at Technopark here have received placement offers from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) during campus interviews.

Out of the 20 students who appeared for the interviews, 14 students of the first batch of the MSc in IT have been offered placement by TCS. The offer package is Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.

"This is the first campus interview for the first batch of the MSc (IT) programme and 70 percent of the students who appeared got selected," said IIITM-K Director in-Charge Dr Elizabeth Shirley.

"Students from IIITM-K performed exceptionally well in the recruitment process. TCS praised the quality of students passing out of IIITM-K," she added.

In a letter addressed to the Institute, Brinda Rani, Assistant General Manager, TCS, expressed gratitude for providing the status of the ‘First Company’ to recruit the students from the batch of students graduating in 2011.

IIITM-K is also rated ‘A+’ by TCS for recruitment, she said. MSc (IT) is a two-year postgraduate programme where the degree is awarded by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The course is basically aimed at preparing BTech graduates in any discipline for a career in the booming IT industry.
