THIRUVANATHAPURAM: The first of three sounding rockets, celebrating the World Space Week2010, was launched from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS), VSSC, Thumba, on Wednesday evening.
School children from across the State witnessed the launch of the RH 200 type rocket. TERLS launched the first RH 200 in 1978 to study the upper atmospheric conditions.
Similar launches are planned at 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday also, VSSC officials said. Inclement weather did not hinder the launch, officials said ? ENS
