THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is considering a proposal for taking over the  sandalwood trees growing on private premises through Forest Development Corporation and providing 70 per cent of their price to the owner and 30 per cent to the Corporation, Minister for Forests K B Ganesh Kumar said.

 The Minister was speaking here on Tuesday after inaugurating the marketing of ‘Marayoor Sandal Oil’, manufactured at the Marayoor Sandal factory, at a function held at the Press Club.

 The Minister launched the product by handing over a bottle of the product to ‘Vanasree’ CEO Pukzhenthi.

 The Minister said that the ‘Vanasree’ outlets would be integrated and  mobile units would be launched.

A  bottling plant for producing ‘Sabari water’ in large scale will also be started, he said.
