THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Akshaya, the innovative project of Kerala IT, will now provide Intel Education Initiative's latest Technology Entrepreneurship course through Akshaya's 2200 customer service centres (CSCs) across Kerala.

The curriculum would be launched by Intel's Regional Director Corporate Affairs, APAC, Anjan Ghosh on January 18. Intel will also release its 'Dipstick Study' a case study on the successful partnership between Intel Learning Initiative and Akshaya to promote its eliteracy programme.

This decision was finalised in a meeting held on Monday between Ishita Roy, Director, Kerala State IT Mission, and the Intel team.

"Kerala IT Mission through Akshaya centres has been providing Intel Learn programme with the aim to develop effective learning practices amongst children. We have been successful in creating a great record of educating 86000 students since 2005 when the course was launched in the State," Akshaya Director Korath V Mathew said. Intel's latest offing Technology and Entrepreneurship programme aims at promoting local innovation through entrepreneurship education and competitions. The curriculum will be provided through all the Akshaya centres for people of the age group 1825 years to promote entrepreneurship.

"Our next step is to take this initiative to the next level and encourage entrepreneurship and the new curriculum being introduced through Akshaya is a step in this direction. We are also working on getting this course certified by the Indira Gandhi National Open University,'' said Ishita Roy.
