THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Bank of  India (SBI) has launched ‘State Govt Salary Package’ (SGSP), a special salary package scheme for all permanent employees of  the Government of  Kerala.

The package is bundled with many benefits and concessions such as interest rebate for loans, zero balance accounts, overdraft facility and zero annual maintenance charges for ATM cards. The SGSP account will also have features

like auto sweep facility, free financial planning and advisory services.

Under the package, the bank will tie up with various state  government departments for opening salary account of its employees. The existing savings bank accounts of  state government employees can also be converted into

SGSP accounts under the scheme.

Depending on the rank of the employee, there will be four  variants in the package - Silver, Gold, Diamond and Platinum.

SBI has also brought out separate packages for  police department personnel and central government employees.
