THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Regatta Cultural Society, a leading dance and music school in the city, is organising a five-day dance and music festival in connection with the society’s 39th anniversary from November 25 to 29.  

 Transport Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the Regatta Dance and Music Fest at Priyadarshini Hall here on Friday at 6 pm.

  Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, a film actress who is known for her dancing prowess, will be the chief guest. Following the inauguration, a dance play, titled ‘Meenakshi Kalyanam’, will be staged.

 On the second day, Mayor K Chandrika will inaugurate a children’s dance play titled ‘Ammamatha’, dedicated to our mother nation.

 National Balatharangam president T Sarathchandra Prasad will inaugurate the events on the third day. On the fourth day, a mass debut of the students of the Regatta Cultural Society will be staged, which will be inaugurated by Gowri Parvathi Bayi. Minister for Culture K C Joseph will inaugurate the valedictory ceremony on coming Tuesday.

   Addressing a press conference here, the organisers of the event said that they were planning to organise a state-wide dance and music fest next year to mark the 40th anniversary of the Society.
