Aditya Rajesh, a thirteen-year-old, had never imagined himself as an actor. When he did step into the shoes of characters in two telefilms, Aditya was quite at ease and gathered many kudos for his performance. His acting stint was a chance happening though. One pleasant evening, he and his father Dr Rajesh were at a restaurant in Kayamkulam, munching on some eats.  A man approached them introducing himself as Prakash, an executive producer from the film industry. He asked if they were interested in introducing Aditya into telefilms. As it was  totally unexpected, Prakash got their contact number and took leave. The amateur actor says, “We never thought that he was really serious about it. But when we got the call from him after a few days, asking about the same thing, we gave it a second thought. That is how I had my first appearance on screen.” Aditya who is now a student at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Nalanchira was then a sixth grade student at Bishop Moore Vidyapeed School at Mavelikkara.

His first appearance was in the forty five-minute telefilm ‘One Missed Call’ directed by Sandesh Manapally. The film portrayed the misuse of mobile phones and its negative impact on youngsters. Within a span of six months he got an offer to act in ‘Kadalpadavukal’, a one-hour film directed by Shafi. As the shooting of these films was on weekends, there were no hassels of missing out lessons at school.

Usha Varghese, a teacher in his previous school in Mavelikkara says, “He was good at studies. Aditya was also there in the school basketball team. He is good at dancing and also plays a few musical instruments.”

He is quite sad about the occasions when he had to say no to the opportunities which knocked at his door. He was invited to act in two full-length movies - ‘Dr. Innocent’ and ‘Ringtone’. But he could not take up the projects due to his exams. Pacifying himself about missing out on the roles, Aditya is waiting for his break on the big screen.
