The Avaneebala Award 2012, instituted in memory of S Avaneebala, went to Shahina E K for her short story collection, ‘Ananthapadmanabhante Marakkuthirakal’.
S Avaneebala was a teacher and researcher in Literature. The jury included Sreevarahom Balakrishnan, NRS Babu and Sudha Balachandran. The award comprises Rs 10,000, statuette and a citation.
The award would be given away on August 6 at the Avaneebala commemoration meeting to be held at the Kollam Public Library Hall at 4.30 p.m.
The award would be given away by renowned Tamil writer Salma.
