The elevation of Mar Baselios Cleemis as cardinal is a recognition to the Indian church, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister called Cleemis, who is in Rome, to convey his congratulations.

Latin Archbishop of Thiruvananthapuram M Soosai Pakiam offered his congratulations to Cleemis calling his appointment a big recognition.
