CPI state executive has asked the government to withdraw the proposed Devaswom Ordinance making major amendments to the Devaswom Board Act.

In a statement issued here the executive said that it was a strange argument on the part of the government to say that only those Hindu MLAs who give an affidavit that they believe in God would only be considered Hindus for voting for the election of a Board member.  It is also sabotaging the reservation for women by limiting the reservation seat only for SC/ST member.

It also alleged that the government is eying corruption by setting up a separate recruitment board instead of handing over the recruitment to PSC as decided by the LDF Government. The executive asked the Governor not to grant approval to the anti-constitutional ordinance.
