THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Resource Centre (SRC) and the Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) would jointly conduct visual media and animation online courses.  

Applications have been invited for admissions to the February 2012 batch.

Director T S Nair said the courses would be helpful for students to get employed in  various electronic media organisations.

The course fee for Diploma in Visual Media and Animation for a duration of one year would be Rs 19,800.  

The fee for Certificate course in Graphics and Web Design (6 months) would be Rs 7,800.

The fee for Certificate course in 3D Animation and V F X (6 months) would be Rs 9,800.

He said those who successfully complete two certificate courses would be eligible for  the diploma. Courses can be studied together or separately.

The students should have passed Standard X. There is no age limit for admission to these courses.  

Prospectus can be downloaded from www.srckerala.org or from the office of the resource centre or by post.

The director said that those who had passed Standard VIII and above 15 years of age can join the community colleges run by the SRC and IGNOU for higher studies.
