Prominent spiritual leader and state head of the Chinmaya Mission, Swami Vivikthananda Saraswathi, said that Hindu unity in Kerala was not far off.
Delivering the inaugural address at the Hindu leadership meet held in connection with the 10th state conference of the Hindu Aikyavedi here on Thursday, he said that it was a good trend to see all Hindu community leaders on the same platform.
He criticised the government and political parties for promoting minority appeasement with an eye on the minority vote bank. ‘’The political leaders as well as bureaucrats are afraid to speak for Hindus as they stand the risk of being branded as communalists,’’ he said. He also expressed the apprehension that Hindu would become a minority if the population was increasing at the current level.
Swami Vivikthananda blamed the politicians for following the British tactics of divide and rule. He called upon the Hindus to awake as Swami Vivekananda had exhorted. Harijan Samajam president M K Kunjol presided. Hindu Aikyavedi organising secretary M Radhakrishnan presented the subject. Leaders K P Sasikala Teacher, Kummanam Rajasekharan, Palliyara Raman, KPMS state organising secretary Thuravoor Suresh and Biju Ramesh spoke. E S Biju welcomed the gathering. Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram director P Parameswaran will inaugurate the delegates session at 10.30 a.m. on Friday at Samskrithi Bhavan.
