Air Marshal Ajit S Bhonsle assumed the office of Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO), Southern Air Command, Akkulam, Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Air Marshal Ajit S Bhonsle was commissioned into the Flying (Navigation) branch of the IAF on June 8, 1978. He is an alumnus of Bhonsla Military School, Nasik and the National Defence Academy, Pune.
He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, College of Defence Management and National Institute of Defence Studies, Tokyo. His ground assignments include Chief Administration Officer at Air Force Station Pune and Principal Director (Intelligence) at Air Headquarters, New Delhi. He was also the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor at the National Defence Academy.
Ajit S Bhonsle is an A1 Qualified Navigation Instructor with 5,200 hours of flying experience on a number of transport aircraft of the IAF. He has commanded the Navigation Training School and served as Flying Inspector in Directorate of Air Staff Inspections. Prior to this appointment, he was Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration, HQ South Western Command, IAF, Gandhinagar.
