Ayurveda and homoeopathic doctors have decided to actively participate in efforts to counter the spread of various types of fever currently prevailing in the state.

Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) and the Institution of Homoeopaths in Kerala (IHK) felt that the government was not giving the required importance to the two systems of medicine in tackling the spread of fever.

AMAI president M Subhash and secretary C D Leena demanded that the government provide more funds to the Indian systems of medicine for prevention of epidemics. They said that they were ready to cooperate with the other medical systems for taking  preventive measures against the spread of viral fever and other epidemics. Pointing out that ayurveda medicines were helpful in prevention of viral fever and other epidemics, they said that preventive ayurveda medicines were available at all  ayurveda hospitals in the state.
