‘Bid to derail TP murder case’

Attempts are being made to  sabotage the T P Chandrasekharan murder case and this is deplorable and amounts to undermining the judicial system in the country, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said.

 “The attempts to derail the case is taking place in front of the court. Those who are doing it are trying to undermine the truth and this is a challenge to law-abiding  citizens,” the Minister said. He was inaugurating the function in which 111 senior women civil police officers were entrusted with the investigation of cases, here on Wednesday.

 It is the first time in the state that the women police personnel have been are fully entrusted with the investigation of cases, from registering of FIR to filing of chargesheets.

 “The government has taken a policy decision to increase the strength of women police personnel. The safety of investigating officers will be ensured by the government,”  the Minister said.   DGP K S Balasubramanian presided over the function. ADGP (South) A Hemachandran, ADGP (admin) P Chandrasekharan, ADGP (training) Rajesh Diwan and Police Training College principal Gopalakrishnan spoke.
