All India Radio will be airing an array of programmes this Onam starting on September 15. All the seven stations will be presenting Onam specials that include film and music related programmes among others. On September 15 Sunday there will be a Kathaprasangam composed by Sambashivan followed by documentary ‘Onapperumayude Deshathanima’. Other important programmes of the day are : ‘Madhuram Deeptham’ at 11.30 am, ‘Avani Ponnonjal’, a music programme presented by Kunchacko Boban, at 1 pm, sound track of ‘Diamond Necklace’ at 3.30 pm, an interview with the late actor Sukumari at 4.30 pm, ‘Paraniraye Puthariniraye’, a programme on the harvest season, at 6.50 and radio drama ‘Othello’ at 9.30.
On Onam day there will be ‘Onappattukal’ at 9.30 am, ‘Enagngalude Onappookkooda’’, a programme featuring singers, lyricists and composers, at 10.30 am, ‘Onam Veendum’, musical feature by G Sreeram, at 11.30 pm, ‘Avaniponnonjal’ presented by Mohanlal at 1 pm, sound track of ‘Oru Marubhoomi Katha’ at 3.30 pm, ‘Onamano Sakhave’, a satire at 4.30 pm, ‘Ormayude Onamuttathu Orithiri Neram’ at 6.50 pm, ‘Onathumbiyum Poonilavum Pattukalum’ at 7.35 pm and ‘Kaviyarangu’ featuring ONV Kurup, Sugathakumari, Balachandran Chullikkad, Vijayalakshmi, Kuripuzha Sreekumar, P K Gopi, Rafeeq Ahmed, Murugan Kattakada and Karivalloor Murali.
On September 17 there will be ‘Ghanashyama Sandhyahridayam’, a light music programme at 10.30 am, ‘Ratrimazhayude Sangeetham’, music programme presented by composer M Jayachandran at 1 pm, sound track of ‘Usthad Hotel’ at 3.30 pm, ‘Avanichintu’, a programme featuring songs composed by the late Dakshinamoorthy, at 4.30 pm, ‘Akhoshangalile Koottaymayaum Kudumba Bhadrathayum’’ at 6.50 pm, Onam programmes by the inmates of Poojappura central prison at 9.30 pm.
On September 18 there will be ‘Nadanam Vineetham’ presented by actor Vineeth at 9.30 am, ‘Sravana geetham’, light music programme at 10.30 am, skit ‘Nattukavalayile Veettukaryangal’ at 11.30 am, ‘Aavani Ponnoonjal’, music programme presented by Dulquar Salman, at 1 pm, sound track of ‘Indian Rupee’ at 3.30 pm, ‘Marathukali Poorakkali’ at 4.30 pm, documentary ‘Tengum Acharanushtanangalum’ at 6.50 pm and ‘Kathakali Padangal’ at 9.30 pm.
