THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : In this tech freak world, nothing gets to you easier and faster than the ‘viral’ videos in Facebook and Whatsapp. Taking the hint that it is already time to wrap up other gimmicks and switch to social media for message dissemination, TBF Technology, a firm incubated at Technopark, have come up with a ‘small’ idea, to spread awareness on socially-relevant issues.

Its ‘One-minute movie’ project that makes and promotes movies that are just one-minute long on social issues like water conservation, drugs and alchohol, has already hit the bulls-eye. The project is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme. TBF Technology promotes these movies through its website www.metromatinee.com, besides its Facebook and Whatsapp platforms.

According to Shaji A John, CEO, TBF Technology, the aim of the company while venturing into the production of ‘One-minute movies’ was to get the message  to the viewer easy and crisp.

“These days, it is Whatsapp and Facebook that helps disseminate information. We wanted our movies to be viral and for that, it had to short and crisp. Nobody has the time to spend anything more than one or two minutes for this. The one minute limit ensures that it is shared and goes viral more easily through all forms of online and mobile platforms,”says Shaji.

So far, the company has brought out three movies, the last one being

‘Careful’ that addressed the problems of alcoholism. It has also brought out two one-minute videos - ‘Precious’, which highlighted the water woes faced today and ‘Foodball’ on the issue of food. The company will soon be launching similar movies against drug abuse and cigarette use.

The first movie ‘Precious’ was launched by director Kamal while the latest venture ‘Careful’ was launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Excise Minister K Babu.

All the videos are animation works except for the one which is under production. “The videos are done by our animation team under the leadership of creative director Ibrahim Badhusha and Manoj,” says Shaji.

He adds that all the one-minute movies were viral in almost all social media platforms.

TDF Technology is a leading name in digital branding and digital marketing, focused on promoting entertainment with special regard to films, sports, events, nonprofit activities and social awareness programmes.
