THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) has announced the recipients of its inaugural fellowships for science writing and science communication.
Prof S Sivadas, a veteran science author, has been awarded the P T Bhaskara Panicker emeritus fellowship for science writing and science communication.
K Rajagopal, Shaju Thomas and P M Sidharthan were granted senior fellowships and N S Arun Kumar, Sangeetha Unnithan and Jais Merlin P Augustine were awarded junior fellowships.
The judging committee has selected Visakh M, Deepu Kanth K, Smrithi J Babu, Sruthi S and Sajini G for traineeship in science journalism.
This is the first time that KSCSTE is instituting fellowships for science writing and science communication. KSCSTE offers Rs 25,000 for emeritus fellowship, Rs 20,000 for senior fellowship and Rs 16,000 for junior fellowship on a monthly basis for two years. A total of Rs 12,000 will be granted for the traineeship programme. ENS
