THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Online facilities would help streamline the services rendered by local-self governments, said Urban Affairs Minister Manjalamkuzhy Ali.
He was speaking here on Tuesday at the official launch of ‘Sanketham’ software which will standardise the issuance of building permits via online in municipalities across the state.
When the software becomes fully functional, building permits would be available within a maximum of 30 days of submitting the application. Moreover, the applicant need not visit the municipality offices.
‘’If faults are detected in the software developed by Information Kerala Mission, remedial measures will be taken immediately. Training has been imparted to 2252 officers so far,’’ the minister said. Ali expressed the hope that the new system can be extended to cover panchayats also. The minister announced that good service entry will be made for officers who played a key role in implementing the project to issue building permits online.
