Bajaj ‘Discovers’ Twin Bikes - 150S and 150F

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Is there anything special about Bajaj's Discover series? Yes, everyone knows the answer, it is one of the largest selling bikes in India. Since its launch in 2004, it has been a huge success in the Indian two-wheeler segment and it is yet to give up on that position. The reason behind its advancing victory is due to the regular upgrade by sensing the customers' desire.

Discover is targeted at office-goers who are looking for great mileage. Unlike Bajaj's other bikes, Discover offers more mileage and simplicity, which makes it more choosy among the working group. Initially, it was launched in the 125 cc segment. It was later on launched in 100 cc and 150 cc, followed by the addition of the new DTSi technology on the engines, which made this class more popular.

Now, the Bajaj Discover 150S and 150F are the new members of the family. Both use the same platform, fuel tank and side and tail panels, the only difference is in their body kit. The 150F's half fairing upfront gives it a standout appearance on the road, whereas the 150S lacks that sharp upfront covering. The signature muscular tank with two-tone emblems and spider-web alloy wheels gives the new Discover 150 a stunning look.

The new Discover 150 is powered with Bajaj's 4-Valve DTS-i with exhaust technology, which generates a thumping power of 14.5 Ps@8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 1.3 Kg-m @ 6500 (12.75 N-m), good enough for a top speed of 110 kmph. Since the fuel tank capacity is 10L (1.9 L usable reserve) and the company offers a stunning mileage of 72 kmpl, you won't need to refill the tank more often during long rides. The specially-designed long comfy seat and rear monoshock with gas-charged nitrox suspension provides less flicks and more comfort, even on hard terrains.

Moreover, the lengthy wheelbase, wide tubeless tyres, petal disc brake and DC headlamp with pilot lamps ensures more safety. The Discover 150F gets smart instrumentation too. It is part analogue for the speedometer and part digital that indicates everything from the side stand warning and trip meter to the fuel gauge, clock and service reminder. The Discover 150S, which is very economical when it comes to the price tag, gets cheaper instrumentation. It's all analogue and does not sport half the readouts of the 150F.

The Discover 150 is available in four different colours, like ebony black, dark blue, dark bottle green and wine red. The ex-showroom price for the 150S is around `56,700 and `60,800 for the 150F series.
