Film on P Krishna Pillai to be Released

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : ‘Vasanthathinte Kanal Vazhikal’, the movie set against the back drop of India’s independence struggle, narrated through the life of late Communist leader P Krishna Pillai will reach theatres on November 14.

 The movie was earlier released and was withdrawn from the cinemas, due to certain political controversies during the Lok-Sabha elections held in April.

 The movie had bagged various awards including best dubbing artist in last year’s Kerala State film awards. Noted Tamil actor-director  P Samuthirakani has donned the lead role of P Krishna Pillai while Tamil actress Thamarai is the leading lady of the film.

 The movie written and directed by Anil V Nagendran has an ensemble cast including Mukesh, Siddique, Rithesh, Devan, Prem Kumar, Bheeman Raghu, Sudheesh, P K Medani, KPAC Lalitha, Surabhi, Shari, Gopika, Oormila Unni and Dharmajan Bolgatty.

 The songs have been composed by noted music directors V Dakshinamoorthy, M K Arjunan, Perumbavoor G Raveendranath, A R Reihana (sister of A R Rahman), James Vasanth, P K Medini, C J Kuttappan and Anchal Udayakumar while the lyrics have been written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, Prabha Verma and Anil V Nagendran.

 K J Yesudas, K S Chithra, P K Medini, C J Kuttappan, Anuradha Sreeram, Sreekanth and Sreeram are the singers who crooned for the movie.

 According to the director special packages would be arranged for students and teachers who turn up to watch the movie in the cinema halls.  “The special packages will be given to the group of students who come for the cinema as part of their academic purpose.” said the director.
