THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A couple was arrested by the Vattiyoorkavu police on Tuesday for clicking the nude pictures and video of their friend with a mobile phone. The accused were identified as John alias Thomas Koshy, 26, a native of Pathanamthitta residing in a rented house near Vattiyoorkavu, and Suji, also 26, belonging to Parassala.
According to police officials, Suji had shot the video and pictures of her friend and roommate following a request from John.
“John, Suji and the victim were close friends for a long time. Later, the victim and the accused persons parted ways owing to various reasons. But John, who had some grievance against the victim, prompted Suji to click the nude pictures and visuals without her knowledge using his mobile phone.
Suji took the pictures when the victim was in the bath. Soon, Suji handed over the mobile phone to John.
However, the incident came to the light when John showed the pictures to his friend.
Later, the victim also came to know about the incident and lodged a complaint with the City Police commissioner. Following the police investigation, the couple was arrested and the phone recovered. Though the pictures and videos were found deleted, they were retrieved later with the help of the Cyber Police,” said a police official.
The key accused John is an accused in several bike theft cases reported from various police stations in the city.
He has been remanded after being produced before the Nedumangad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.
