Padmarajan Awards

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  ‘Nyavavidhi’, authored by Socrates K Valath, has been selected for the Padmarajan Award for best short story for the year 2014.  The award, instituted by Padmarajan Memorial Trust, comprises of a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a plaque. The award winning short story was published in Mathrubhumi weekly.

 The jury comprised of Malayalam University Vice Chancellor K Jayakumar, journalist S Bhasurachandran and advocate B Babu Prasad.  The Padmarajan Award for the best film of 2014 went to ‘Ain’, scripted and directed by Siddharth Siva. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for the director and Rs 10,000 for the script writer along with plaques. The jury comprised of filmmaker Mohan, Vijayakrishnan, Sudevan and K Y Radhalakshmi Saratchandran.  The awards will be presented on May 22 at 6.45 pm at VJT Hall.
