Eying a place in Guinness World Records, cartoonist Guinness Dileef, a native of the city, is making the biggest caricature of UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoom on a canvas termed to be the biggest. The caricature will be drawn on a 7,500 square metre long canvas during the Dubai Shopping Festival that begins on November 2.

“It was Al Zain Frames and Events LLC company, run by a few Malayalis, which approached me for the work with an aim to get a place in the Guinness World Records. The caricature will be drawn live during the festival in the presence of authorities from Guinness World Records. It will be completed over a period of seven days starting from November 2. The company will be setting up a pavilion at the fest to carry out the work from November 2 onwards. I will be leaving for Dubai on November 1,” says Guinness Dileef. “We selected him for the work because he is the son of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who actually developed the country into the present state. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoom is also known as the progressive leader with his developmental activities. Unlike other Arab countries, Dubai reached the present state through its business firms and tourism initiatives and not through the petroleum. We thought of honouring the Prime Minister for his work. Besides, the country also respects every religion and incorporates all religious institutions into it and considering all these facts, we considered this as an opportunity to honour the Minister rather than just eying a place in Guinness,” said the organisers.
