THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is waking up to new trends, new faces and unorthodox forms of expression. In an endeavour to do something exceptional and unlike anything seen in the state’s music and film industry, a young group of freinds have released a music video called “Life is Adipoli”. A story in disguise, the video went viral in no time.

‘Life is Adipoli’ is a rather creative expression for exclaiming how good life is inspite of the little bumps in the road and the draining struggles we are faced with. These musicians are no longer part of a nascent scenario, but instead have gotten strong support and appreciation from a large segment, especially the young generation.

‘Life is Adipoli’ is the brainchild of Shiboo Shamz, who was driven to come up with something unusual but would be relevant to the Malayali Community.

With the support from his boss and friends he proceeded and Mujeeb Majeed joined the production as music composer. Mujeeb Majeed is a self-taught musician and made it into the music industry through sheer grit.

The video was directed by Albert Antony, the lyrics were penned by Shabareesh Varma, who also appears in the video along with Captian Cluck, the animated chicken on whom the video is centred.

The English Version of the song ‘Life is Awesome’, was sung by Piyush Kapoor, who was also part of the popular band ‘Thaikuddam Bridge’. Many dance remixes and such based on the video are also in the making, and is definitely something to look forward to. The group went into production after two months of pre-production work, and the shoot was wrapped up in 8-9 days.

The animation of ‘Captain Cluck’ took 5 months of painstakingly detailed work. The animation for this video was mainly bestowed by ‘Dream catchers’ based in Trivandrum and ‘There Are Frogs’ a Bangalore based organisation.

The initial idea was to make a film with a social awareness theme, but to make it more interesting, the crew decided to give it the form of a musical.

“Most of the crew members are from a movie background, so of course every one wanted to collaborate to create a short film, but somewhere along the line we thought of giving it a more interesting musical form, so I would say its a musical short film.” explained Shiboo Shamz.  “This expression hopefully will be now understood and used to describe the amazing way you are feeling all around the world.” said Shiboo Shamz. The music video has over 10 million views altogether as of now, since its release.
