Tales of Love and Hope

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Joseph K Jose may not necessarily have tonnes of life experience to boast of,  but every little incident since childhood did leave back residues. These  remains are pricey in their own way, for it is them that showed him the way of life, love and hope.

Joseph, who works in Kochi as an assistant manager at an MNC, wanted to share with the world his experiences and thus was born ‘Buried Thoughts’, a collection of stories or rather, as he calls them, “my life in all its staggering honesty”.

“’Buried Thoughts’ is autobiographical in nature. There might not be anything special in them, but they are experiences that I want to share with the world,” says Joseph.

He, however, doesn’t bracket his tales to good ones. Joseph says he sees himself in a critical manner and his stories are a vivisection of his life through a third person’s eye. In the preface of the book, Joseph writes: “I do not care even if my image would shatter in the eyes of the people who adore me”.

Love

Aptly, “Buried Thoughts’ starts with a simple-yet-touching tale “To Mariyu with Love’. “Its a tale of rediscovering love. How I embarked on a journey to find Mariyu, my baby sitter who adored me and took care of me till I was four. It is a tribute,” says Joseph.

Through the book, Joseph also revisits some magnificent events in his life,  a lonely Christmas in China which he spend with a beggar which later became the best Christmas in his life (Story titled ‘Merry Christmas’).

Confessions

Joseph isn’t ashamed to revel dark chapters in his life too. The ‘Mistakes’ is  about his mistakes too. I wanted to share my mistakes to the world because I wanted the world to learn from it, writes Joseph in the preface. But, how much ever grim they may be, Joseph’s tales always have a silver lining, that of hope and better living.

The book has been published by notionpress.com and is priced at `299. It will be released on Friday by script writer John Paul by handing over a copy to Geemon Korah, CEO, Kancor Ingredients Ltd.
