THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city will witness stringent traffic regulations on Monday in the wake of Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, Kerala assembly session and Onam procession. City Police Commissioner G Sparjan Kumar said traffic restrictions will be in place from Nemom to Kazhakootam from 6 am to 8 pm in connection with the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Restrictions will also be in place in the city limits on account of the Kerala assembly session being convened to elect the speaker. Parking vehicles on major thoroughfares in the city has been banned on Monday, the commissioner added. Traffic complaints can be conveyed on 9497987001 and 9497987002.
Vehicular movement in the city will also be affected due to the Onam pageantry being scheduled for Monday. Vehicular flow will be restricted from 2 pm to 10 pm. The curbs will be in place along the Kowdiar-Vellayambalam- Museum-RR Lamp-Palayam-Spencer Junction-Statue- Ayurveda College Junction- Overbridge-Pazhavangadi-East Fort-Vettimuricha Kotta-Mithrananthapuram- West Fort- Enchakkal route. Parking will also be prohibited along the route.
