Ruling party cadre organise protests across State, seek apology from Opposition Leader for remarks against CM

VIJAYAWADA: Condemning the controversial remarks made by YSRC Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had opined that there was nothing wrong in shooting Chief Minister N Chandrababu, Transport Minister K Atchannaidu appealed the people of the State to understand the intentions the Opposition Leader.“People of the State, particularly people of Nandyal, should know the nature of Reddy, who made such derogatory statements. Despite not being in power, Jagan is provoking the public with ugly statements against the Chief Minister. It is up to the people to imagine the worse he will do in case of anything going in favour of him,” Atchannaidu said.


Speaking to mediapersons at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Friday, the minister said that people should be more cautious about Reddy, who is attempting to make Pulivendula faction politics in Nandyal by resorting to provoke the public.Ministers P Pulla Rao, Nakka Anand Babu and other leaders of the TDP also came down heavily on the YSRC chief and termed him as a “maniac”.Women Finance Corporation chairperson P Anuradha said that the YSRC chief, who himself is accused in 12 chargesheets and spent 16 months in jail, had no right to criticise the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, Kurnool Zilla Parishad Chairman M Rajasekhar submitted a memorandum to Kurnool district SP J Gopinath Jetty seeking action against the YSRC chief for making derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister.


Jagan burnt in effigy
Taking strong exception over the remarks of YSRC chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, leaders and activists of the TDP burnt Reddy in effigy.In Vijayawada, cadres led by Devineni Avinash set afire the effigy of the YSRC chief and said that they will not tolerate such remarks in the future. In Guntur, the TDP functionaries burnt the effigy of YSRC chief at Lodge Centre. The ruling party cadres organised similar protests in various parts of the state and sought apology from the YSRC chief. They also demanded him to withdraw the remarks.
