More than 28,540 are employed in units of the China-based company in various countries.   It may be recalled that as a part of his China visit a few months ago, Lokesh had called on Sunny Opticals vice-director Aaran and invited him to invest in Andhra Pradesh after explaining the measures being taken by the State government to develop the electronics sector.

Meanwhile, Lokesh held discussions with Tata Trust, Andhra Pradesh, regional manager Rajendra Babu and other representatives on drinking water supply. Tata Trust extends various other services such as rural development, healthcare and supplying safe drinking water.

Stating that the State government has set up NTR Sujala Plants under ‘Hub-and-Spoke’ model to supply safe drinking water to people, the IT minister said satisfactory results would have happened if the Tata Trust came forward as the operational partner for management of NTR Sujala Plants. Tata Trust representatives expressed willingness to associate with the government in maintaining the NTR Sujala Plant, adding that they would come up with a plan after conducting a study.
