Andhra Pradesh TDP government steeped in graft, nepotism, alleges YSR Congress

Accusing Naidu of placing his personal interests above the State’s, they said corruption was rampant from top to the bottom in TDP.

VIJAYAWADA:  Apart from spreading lies, the four-year-old Chandrababu Naidu government is steeped in corruption, inefficiency, nepotism and apathy to people, according to YSR Congress (YSRC) charge-sheet released here on Friday.Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, party senior leaders Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and G Srikanth Reddy said, “The gross inefficiency of Naidu has come to the fore with his failure to get what is due to the State from the Centre, though TDP was part of the the NDA Government for nearly four years.”

Accusing Naidu of placing his personal interests above the State’s, they said corruption was rampant from top to the bottom in TDP. They ridiculed the frequent U-turns of Naidu on special category status in the last four years. “Was he not equally responsible for the State not getting the special status?” they questioned and said he took up the issue only after YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy stood firm on it.
The YSRC leaders said none of the promises made in the election manifesto was fulfilled. TDP had grabbed the valuable lands of farmers in the name of capital city Amaravati.  In the last four years, the law and order situation in the State was at its worst, they alleged.

Srikanth Reddy said that after the cash-for-vote scam, Naidu had even allowed the other states to draw more water than they were entitled to, to save his own skin. In the 31-page charge-sheet of YSRC against the TDP government, a total number of 21 failures of Naidu were highlighted. Failure to control illegal sand mining, land grabbing, illegal liquor sale, illegal mining, lack of progress in capital city construction, closure of 3,600 schools and lack of remunerative prices for agriculture produce were some of them.
