VIJAYAWADA: As many as 65 students of 2015-16 batch of Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences (FIMS), Kadapa, who qualified in the NEET UG-2018 examination, staged a demonstration in front of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) here on Tuesday, demanding that Vice-Chancellor CV Rao provide them seats in their colleges without any counselling.

The students raised slogans against the college management for “ruining their lives”. They said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured them of providing admissions for the NEET qualified students from this academic year. Responding to this, NTRUHS officials said that they were unaware of the assurance given by the government, and that they had not received any orders in this regard. Later, Rao convened a meeting with the founder of FIMS over the issue.
