TDR bonds for affected landowners, says CRDA

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is issuing Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds for landowners whose properties would be affected in the widening of the Mahanadu road from Ballem Vari street. 

On Tuesday, APCRDA Zonal Joint Director K Dhanunjaya Reddy gave away the TDR bonds to one Khader Bhasha, who lost a part of his land, after taking consent letter from him. 

Speaking on the occasion, the authority officials said a total of 103 properties would be affected, while widening the Mahanadu road to 100-ft. “So far, 76 landowners have agreed and we will issue the bonds to them soon. We are also negotiating with the rest of the landowners,” they said.

Similarly, the officials said 193 properties would be affected in the extension of Bandar Road; of these owners of 88 structures gave their consent. “We are yet to get the consent from 105 landowners. Once they give their consent, we will issue TDR bonds to them as well,” they said.

Earlier in the day, SS Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary of Assam State Capital Region Development Authority (ASCRDA) and Guwahati Development Department and Urban Development Department met APCRDA commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar to study various aspects of the execution of Amaravati. 

The ASCRDA secretary will visit the Amaravati and study the financial models, land pooling scheme, regional planning, urban development strategies and other issues during his three-day visit.
