Parents claim girl missing, Vijayawada police say she’s at large after duping 40 jobless youths

The girl, identified as B Reena Rechal, worked with AJ Techno and went missing here on Saturday. She reportedly switched off her phone an hour later she left home.

VIJAYAWADA: The missing case of a 23-year-old girl, who was working for a private firm, created a flutter in the city on Saturday when her parents approached Patamata police and expressed doubt over the involvement of the managing director (MD) of the firm in the issue.

The girl, identified as B Reena Rechal, worked with AJ Techno and went missing here on Saturday. She reportedly switched off her phone an hour later she left home. Worried parents lodged a complaint with the police against MD Vijay Kumar, in which they said their daughter left for office to avail permission for leave, but did not return.

Meanwhile, the Krishna Lanka police said the case was not that of a kidnap and that Reena and Vijay Kumar duped 40 persons by collecting Rs 5 lakh from them assuring them of jobs in call centres.
According to Krishna Lanka inspector K Chandrasekhar, the main accused Vijay Kumar started the company AJ Techno (which offered training and consultancy services to call centers) at Balaji Nagar and collected around Rs 5 lakhs from the candidates assuring them of jobs with international call centres.

“When these candidates demanded him (Kumar) to provide them employment, the two absconded from the city. A case of cheating has been registered against the two and an investigation is underway,” the inspector told.

In a similar incident, an MBBS coaching centre organiser reportedly fled with `50 lakh collected as coaching fees. The accused, Ramana Reddy, opened a coaching center  in Penamaluru and admitted 54 candidates.
