Students always wish to improve their educational prospects and aim to achieve high levels of professionalism. But some fail in their attempts due to various reasons that range from lack of concentration, energy etc. Through this weekly column, I plan to give students useful tips, which will help them choose their subjects, plan their exam prep and organise their life.
Normally, to have a good memory and effective learning, planets such as Mercury and Jupiter should have a strong presence in the horoscope. If the lord of the fourth house from the lagna (ascendant) is placed in trikona bhava, is exalted, or in its respective ruling house, it will be helpful for academic excellence.
If Jupiter’s aspect is in the fourth house, then students can hope for a good academic career. If Ragu’s (the dragon head) aspect is in the seventh house or lord of the seventh house is conjunct with the lord in the ninth house or in the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn or Pisces), then the student will have multiple language skills and can go abroad for higher studies.
The right course
Students who have Mercury in Aries, can study engineering, medicine or agriculture. If Mercury is placed in Tarus or Pisces, they can do commerce, economics and law. If it is placed in Gemini, then students can chose to go with computer science engineering or accountancy. Those in Cancer can do arts and literature or marine engineering.
When Mercury is placed in Leo and Aquarius, it is good for political science, philosophy and catering. In Virgo and Sagittarius, students can take up commerce and accountancy. In Libra, students may flourish in music, law, commerce, fashion technology. If it is placed in Scorpio, then you may try agriculture studies or mechanical engineering. Such students may also face a break in their studies. If Mercury is laced in Capricorn then, students can do mine engineering or archaeology.
If Jupiter and Mercury are strongly placed in one’s horoscope, they should concentrate on law or CA. If Mercury and Mars are placed strongly in a horoscope, they should go for higher studies in civil engineering. For textile, chemical engineering, Mercury and Venus should be strongly placed in the horoscope. For one to succeed in medicine, Sun, Mars and Mercury should be strongly placed in one’s horoscope.
