Courses in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy for those planning a career in diplomatic services

Diplomacy and Foreign Policy involves study of theories, issues and processes related to international liaisons. The courses are particularly suited for those hoping to work in international organisations, NGOs and governments. While diplomats are usually constrained by their State’s national interests and international laws, these courses, however, try to bring geography, history and economics into the teaching in order to help students gain more from the subject. Here are a list of universities in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia, for you to get started.

City University London, UK

Their MA in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy offers a mix of subjects tackling economical, political, and practical dimensions of diplomacy and foreign policy with reference to key regions. The University says that studying the course will provide you with a postgraduate-level and research-led education in the dynamic field of international politics. International students can apply for the School of Arts and Social Sciences’ International Excellence Scholarship.
