T’PURAM/ HYDERABAD: A mix of punchy Malayalam film-style dialogues and sharp political attacks marked Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's campaign in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, as he rallied support for the UDF in roadshows and public meetings. Drawing loud cheers from Congress supporters, he tweaked a popular film dialogue and said, "Nee po mone Dinesha. Vijaya, your time is over," targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
In a scathing attack, Revanth Reddy drew parallels between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pinarayi, alleging that the Left government was indirectly helping the entry of communal forces into the state.
"Pinarayi Vijayan is no different from Narendra Modi. He is like his shadow. The Left government is aiding communal forces to gain a foothold in the state," he said.
Campaigning for UDF candidate KS Sabarinadhan in Nemom, Revanth Reddy began his roadshow from Poonthura, moving through multiple locations and addressing gatherings in the constituency.
'UDF prevented BJP and RSS from gaining ground'
Stating that voting for the LDF would be "equivalent to voting for the BJP", he said that the United Democratic Front (UDF) has drawn a "Lakshman Rekha" preventing the BJP and RSS from gaining ground in Kerala. He accused the Vijayan-led government of remaining silent on stalled development projects, including national highways.
Revanth Reddy further alleged that while central agencies like the ED and CBI are used against opposition leaders across the country, no action is taken against the LDF government, indicating a silent understanding between the BJP and the CPI(M).
Highlighting Kerala's legacy, the he said the state became a model in literacy, social awareness, and human development due to the efforts of past Congress governments led by leaders like K Karunakaran, Oommen Chandy and AK Antony.
