THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to enter the Kerala Assembly. Senior national leaders of the BJP will be touring various parts of the state on April 8, 9 and 10 for campaigning to give a fillip to the party’s chances in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Senior BJP leader L K Advani will arrive in the state on Saturday. He will be visiting Thiruvananthapuram - the BJP has O Rajagopal and P K Krishnadas fielded in the district - and later Kannur on the same day. BJP national president will be here on April 10. He will also be visiting Alappuzha and Malappuram, BJP state president V Muraleedharan said.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kozhikode on April 10, Muraleedharan said. “The Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj will arrive for a second tour of the state on April 9. She will visit Malappuram, Thrissur and Idukki in the second round,” Muraleedharan said.

“In the first round, Sushmaji had toured Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Pathanamthitta. Swaraj , who had expressed the hope of a BJP entry into the Kerala Assembly with an ‘impressive number of MLAs’ is in charge of the BJP’s campaign in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducheri.

BJP former president Venkaiah Naidu is another top leader whose date has been confirmed by the BJP state leadership. Naidu will campaign in Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Palakkad and Kozhikode. Party national spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad is among the other national leaders expected to pep up the saffron campaign in Kerala in the coming days.
