

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NDA candidate S Sreesanth has a total self -acquired assets worth Rs 7.37 crore as per the affidavit he submitted along with his nomination to the Thiruvananthapuram Assembly constituency.
Sreesanth has a total bank deposit of Rs 3,08,712 in ten bank accounts. He has Rs 42,500 in hand, while his spouse has Rs 35,000 in hand. He has 7,400 shares worth Rs 74,000 in ‘S36 Sports and Entertainment Pvt Ltd.’
With the SBI Life Insurance and Reliance Insurance, he has deposited Rs 3 lakh each. Sreesanth has given a loan of Rs 38,50,000 to S36 Sports and Entertainment.
In 2015, he has purchased a Jaquar XJL car for Rs 1,18,00,000. A TVS Apache motor bike worth Rs 30,000 received as prize for ‘Man of the Match’ in 2006 from BCCI is another vehicle under his ownership.
Fifty-five 55 sovereigns of gold worth Rs 12,10,000 and World Cup cricket medal (diamond-studded) of 2007 and 2011 worth Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000 are the other moveable assets.
He has total moveable assets worth Rs 1,87,18,212.45, while spouse has 375 sovereigns of gold worth Rs 82,50,000 and total moveable property worth Rs 82,85,000.
Dependent daughter has 20 sovereigns worth Rs 4,40,000.
The immovable properties include 5.26 Ares under Edappally village, building with a built-up area of 9,880 sq ft purchased in 2011 worth Rs 2.95 crore, investment on the land by way of development construction worth Rs 2.50 crore, with a current market value of Rs 5.50 crore.
He has loan worth Rs 49,05,844 due to SBI, Tripunithura Branch, and Rs 88,53,252 to HDFC Bank at Ravipuram, Ernakulam . His total liability is for Rs 1,37,59,096.
Self-acquired assets have been valued at Rs 7,37,18,212.45. In the affidavit, his profession has been given as sportsperson, actor, businessman and social activist .
He has the passed the eleventh standard from Bhavan’s Vidyamandir, Elamakkara, in Ernakulam.
Explanation Sought
The District Election Officer and Media Certification and Monitoring Committee chairman Biju Prabhakar has sought an explanation from Kummanam Rajasekharan, BJP candidate from Vattiyoorkavu, on the distribution of ‘Kummanathinte Rajayogam’, a supplement, in the constituency. The chairman sought the explanation as the supplement did not have the necessary information. It was neither mentioned who was publishing the supplement, the name of press nor the number of copies printed.
