Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday released Left Democratic Front (LDF)'s manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in Kerala.
A key promise in the manifesto is the enhancement of welfare pensions to Rs 3,000 per month, alongside a renewed commitment to eliminate absolute poverty.
The LDF said it would identify nearly five lakh of the most economically vulnerable families and extend targeted support to help them rise above poverty.
The Front reiterated its focus on marginalised communities, including Scheduled Castes, fisherfolk, and Antyodaya beneficiaries. It also pledged improved care systems for the elderly and bedridden, with strengthened healthcare delivery at the local level.
Employment generation, particularly for the youth, features prominently in the manifesto. The LDF has promised to facilitate campus placements for students and expand skill development programmes. A proposed “Back to Campus” initiative seeks to equip job seekers with practical, employment-oriented skills.
Women’s participation in the workforce is another priority area, with the Front aiming to raise it to 5 per cent.
The manifesto outlines plans to attract investments worth Rs 2 lakh crore over the next five years. It also proposes the development of industrial corridors and innovation hubs to boost industrial growth and job creation.
