Balam launches tv actors

BALAM is a movie launching debutants Aravind Vinoth and Mumbai model Deepa Chari. But the hero’s friend is played by Krishna, who entered films after scoring success on television. However this is not his first film. Speaking to Expresso, Krishna tells us more.

“I have acted in K Balachander’s Sahana which was a TV sequel of Sivakumar’s film Sindhu Bhairavi . I play the son of Sivakumar and Suhasini in the TVserial,” says Krishna. Later he played the lead in Sun TV’s Chidambara Rahasiyam before movies happened three years ago.

Balam is my fourth film after Idaya Thirudan, Oru Kadhal Sivir and Azhagiya Asura where I have played second hero and villain roles. In Balam too I play the hero’s friend,” is all Krishna leaves us with.  We catch up with the hero of Balam to find out his journey from the small screen to the big one. His is a familiar face to viewers of Sun Music. A veejay and anchor who does popular TV shows like Natpukaga Aravind Vinoth was a model in TV commercials before TV found him. Recently he reached the finals of Mastana Mastana . But looks like films are his ultimate calling. He had graduated from the Madurai Kamaraj University, majoring in History. But suggestions from friends led him to try his luck in the world of ads and TV. “I always wanted to do films and when I was trying my luck, director Murlikrishna of Balam saw me on TV and thought I would fit the role,” he explains. He plays the hero who enjoys life till it turns a serious affair with the advent of love. Suhasini plays his sister-in-law while Rahman plays a cop. Santhanam and Kanja Karuppu bring in the laughs. His heroine is Mumbai model Deepa Chari. “The movie is 40 percent comedy, 40 percent action and 20 percent love.” Will that make it a 100 percent success is what we’d like to know !
