VIVEL Chinnathirai Awards, a first-of-its kind event held at Kamarajar Arangam on Saturday evening, saw the leading actors of small screen come together under one roof. It was an evening of entertainment and fun where awards were presented to artists under various categories.

Radhika bagged the best small screen actress award for Arasi serial and Sanjeev won the best small screen actor award for 'Thirumathi Selvam' serial. The serial also won the best story award and its director Kumaran bagged the best director award.

Director Thiruselvam got the best screenplay award for 'Kolangal' serial.

He received the award from director K Bhagyaraj and said, “The award is like an Oscar for me and with this I am making my move to big screen.” The director also hinted that the serial will come to an end soon. Kala master was awarded the Best Choreographer award for 'Kolangal'. She said, “We had put in a lot of work and the title song was shot in a day.” Music director Iman won the best music director award for Sivashakthi serial and the Lifetime Achievement award was given to S N Lakshmi.
