The verdict is out.
‘Help’, the horror film starring Bobby Deol and Mughda Godse, has been declared a dud. Critics have slammed the film by calling it another run-of-the-mill stuff Bollywood is known for churning out year after year in this genre. Even the audiences’ response has not been as good compared to her earlier three films – ‘Fashion’, ‘All the Best’ and ‘Jail’.
Surprisingly, Mugdha sounded least perturbed when asked to react.
“I know there are people who’ve not liked the film. But everyone who has watched it has said good things about my performance. I don’t really care for critical appreciation and if you talking about the box-office collections then I must say that now things are getting better. I’m hoping for the best,” said the actress, who says she doesn’t believe in sitting at home to introspect as to what went wrong with the film and why it has flopped.
“Why do I’ve to do that? For me, ‘Help’ is not a flop. It’s one of the best horror films made in Bollywood. It’s going to set a benchmark for all those filmmakers who are interested in this genre. I’d say don’t listen to critics, read what they’ve to say but go watch the film to make your own judgement,” she suggested.
Even before the release of ‘Help’, people seemed more interested in talking about a white bikini she has worn in the film than anything else. There were reports according to which Mugdha’s parents had objected to that scene. Is it true?
“My mother said ‘Why bikini?’ That’s all. Some even said that my parents have disowned me for doing that scene. I guess everything was blown out of proportion. It’s irritating but I can’t complain as at least they’re talking about the film,” she admitted honestly.
The actress, who is known for her sexy, glamourous image on screen, said she would not like to go no-glam to get critical acclaim. “People have liked my performances in all my films. I don’t think so I need to go for an image makeover to prove my acting credentials. I don’t feel by removing make-up, one can become a better actor. I’m happy doing glam roles as long as I get to perform,” said the model-turned-actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ in 2008.
The actress said she is currently busy shooting for Aditya Datt’s ‘Will You Marry Me?’ and has no time for love. “I just want to concentrate on work right now. My friends and family want me to check out guys but there is no time for it,” she revealed.
