MUMBAI: Baroda-based Bhoomi Trivedi, who is among three finalists on the ‘Indian Idol 5’ show, has been chosen as the new radio jockey of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM.

The 21-year-old girl had participated in the radio jockey auditions for the station when the top five contestants were remaining on the show. But she pipped Sreeram Chandra, Rakesh Maini, Swaroop Khan and Shivam Pathak, due to listeners' votes.

RJ Sangita of Radio Mirchi came to the finale, being held at the Filmistan Studios here, to announce the result. Bhoomi expressed immense happiness upon receiving the opportunity. Besides thanking the listeners, she also greeted the audience in true radio jockey style.
