SHAZAHN Padamsee was just 21 when she did an Airtel commercial with Shahrukh Khan and in the same year she made her debut as a heroine in 'Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year' opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Her acting skills were appreciated and soon she got an opportunity to act in Kollywood.
Now the charming actress is eagerly waiting for her debut flick in Tamil, 'Kanimozhi' and her debut in Telugu, 'Orange'.
'Kanimozhi', a lovely script
“The script was great. I have always wanted to work in South Indian films before making my Bollywood debut. The film industry is very professional here and it’s a great learning experience. It also teaches you how to perform with confidence. I’m so lucky to get such a script,” Shazahn says excitedly.
Not revealing much about her character, Shazahn says, “The character is close to my heart. She(Anu) is a college going girl, shy but very confident. She is very friendly and attractive. It was wonderful to work with Jai. He was very helpful and we had a blast on the sets. 'Kanimozhi' is a debut film for director Sripathy Rangasamy as well. He is extremely talented and is also clear about what he wants.”
I was very shy
Shazahn comes from a renowned family background. Her father Alyque Padamsee is a well-known theatre personality. She says, “I was very shy and never thought I would get into films. But when I decided to enter into films, I was very confident and worked hard.
"My dream is to become a great actor and also as a good person and make my parents proud. I’m not restricting myself to Bollywood, my dreams are also to make it big in Hollywood."
A dream come true
Shazahn was missing at the audio launch of 'Kanimozhi'. She explains that she was busy with her second project in Bollywood. “I’m pairing opposite Ajay Devgan in a Madhur Bhandarkar film, 'Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji'. It’s like a dream come true for me and I’m looking forward to the film. In 'Orange', my Telugu flick, I pair opposite Ram Charan Teja. My character is young and fresh and I come in a flashback sequence,” informs the actress.
Dad’s Girl
“When I told my father about my acting desires, he said ‘Be ready to knock on 100 doors until one door opens’. I’m ready to knock on thousand doors,” says the hardworking actress. "I know about the industry and how long it will take for a door to open. I’m ready to knock on a thousand doors."
