Vishu with Amrita

Vishu specials of Amrita TV will indeed be sumptuous as Mammootty and Mohanlal are there as double treat for viewers.

Vishu specials of Amrita TV are indeed sumptuous. The movie ‘Mummy and Me’ will be premiered on the Vishu day at 9 a.m. The two Big Ms, Mammootty and Mohanlal, too are there as double treat for the viewers. ‘Hridayapoorvam Mammootty’ (8.30 p.m.) will see Mammootty opening up to Sreenivasan about the emerging trends in films, the current state of Malayalam cinema, the direction in which it is headed etc. ‘Star Interview’ at 9 p.m. will have Mohanlal talking about his forthcoming movies and challenges thrown up by new roles.

The contestants of Ragaratnam Junior-2 will present devotional melodies in ‘Vishukkani’ at 6 a.m. ‘Manninte Kaineettam’ at 7 a.m. will bring the thanksgiving of the agrarian society of Thanikudam village. ‘Kanikonna Pookkalum Vishukaineetavum’ at 7.30 a.m. catches up with C Radhakrishnan, Sumangala, Mundoor Sethumadhavan, K P Ramanunni, Janardanan Puthussery and Sadanandan Anikath and their Vishu remembrances.  

‘Naadan Paattinte Kaineettam’ at 8.30 a.m. brings you ‘koithuppattu’, ‘vanchipaattu’ and ‘kalipattu’. ‘Kavithayude Kaineettam’ at 3.30 p.m. will see Alangode Leelakrishnan and P P Ramachandran at Akkitham Mana to pay their respects to Mahakavi Akkitham. ‘Narmathinte Kaineettam’ (4 p.m.) will have comedy stars from the film and television spreading out fun through game shows, anthakshari and droll exchanges.

‘Sauhridathinte Kaineettam’ (4.30 p.m.) brings Kunchacko Boban, Indrajith, Samvritha Sunil, Ann  Augustine and Sandhya together along with director V K Prakash while shooting for ‘Three Kings’.

Kalamandalam Kshemavathy will be interacting with Rajasri Warrier, Neena Prasad and a couple of her students in ‘Nrithyathinte Kaineettam’ at 5 p.m. She will enact a poem composed by Sugathakumari, give brief dancing lessons for her students and depict the myriad lasya bhavas of Bharatanatyam. There will be a chat with M S Vishwanathan in ‘Snehathinte Kaineettam’ at 5.30 pm. ‘Abhinayathinte Kaineettam’ features a cosy tete-a-tete with Dileep at 7 p.m. and Bhama at 8 p.m.

‘Nirangalude Kaineettam’ at 7.30 p.m. catches up with artist Namboothiri, J R Prasad and Sekar Ayyanthole. They relive previous Vishu celebrations at the end of which Namboothiri gifts the others with a couple of his classics in canvas as a souvenir.  

The celebrations would wind up at 9.30 p.m. ‘Viplavathinte Vishu Pakshi’ when Amrita TV catches up with V S Achuthanandan on his blistering campaign trail.
