Balaji, who jumped into acting after brief stints as Radio Jockey and Video Jockey and did a couple of films including Maalaipozhudhin Mayakkathilae and Thaandavam, turns hero with an upcoming flick titled Sutta Kadhai. He plays a constable in the film, set in the genre of black comedy along with Venky, whose comic videos are popular online.
Subu, an architect by profession who penned songs in Aarohanam, debuts as director with Sutta Kadhai.
Subu promises the film will be a laugh riot for audiences though the characters will undergo a serious situation. “The entire film happens in an imaginary village called Koramalai, which has its own lifestyle,” informs Subu, who has planned to start shooting the film in Kodaikanal from January 2013. Actor Lakshmi Priya, who has done a couple of films and serials, is playing the female lead and the supporting cast includes actors Nasser, Jayaprakash and M S Baskar.
Libra Productions, which is making Nalanum Nandiniyum, is funding Sutta Kadhai as well
