Actor Aadhi has been rather selective with his projects over the last few years. After debuting in the 2006 Telugu film, 'Oka Vichitram', he moved to the Tamil industry. And now there is the much anticipated, multi-lingual 'Kochadaiyaan', starring Rajnikanth, where Aadhi is said to have a significant role. The 29-year-old is an easy conversationalist, and forthright with a sense of humour as he opens up in a quick interview:

My shooting for 'Kochadaiyaan' is over. We have tried motion capture and it is like what one sees in 'The Adventures of Tintin' or 'Avatar'. Soundarya R Ashwin (the director) was very careful with every scene. She asked me to remove my moustache so that my upper lip and nose would be clear and precise in the animation.

I have the maximum scenes with Rajinikanth. He is going to look extremely different in the movie. I had a brief conversation with him in his caravan and we spoke about non-filmi things. My father (Ravi Raja Pinisetty) has directed him and it is like a dream come true to work with him. The best part is that he is extremely knowledgeable, wise and super stylish, but he is grounded. He knows how to balance his life and enjoys being himself. I am still starting out and had a lot to learn.

My next project is a bilingual, based on the life of fishermen. It is called 'Gundello Godari' in Telugu. I lived with fishermen for a month before I statred working on the film. I had to work on my body language and had to brush up on everything, from what they eat and what happens if they get a good catch, or not.

My movies have different dialects and it is challenging. I had to learn local Telugu for 'Gundello Godari'. At the same time, 'Kochadaiyaan' has ancient Tamil, which is loud and dramatic. It is very unrealistic in today’s world. But that is how they spoke in that time. Though the dubbing process is a little tedious, it is interesting.

I do not mind playing a city guy but it should be different. I want to do a movie like 'Dil Chahta Hai' or 'Rang De Basanti' where I will play an urban male and yet be different. I got around 90 to 100 scripts last month and I selected two out of them.

Yes, I do come across as an arrogant person. You reject so many films but it is simply because of a difference of opinion. People have different points of view and one has to be very diplomatic. I am zero at networking and you will never find me wanting to be at the right place at the right time. By now people know what I am. The last time I went clubbing was last week (laughs). Since, I am a little free now, I have been partying every alternate day.

I cry when my film flops. You put in so much effort and the movie flops, it’s bad.

I would have been a pilot. I love flying and I am passionate about planes. I also enjoy travelling and not necessarily to exotic locations.

I eat only organic food. I have millets for breakfast and lunch and a lot of veggies and fruits in the second half of the day. Tasty food is unhealthy, tasteless food is healthy — that is what I feel.
