Bollywood singer Papon shares his success story in Guwahati

Papon stated that he ventured into music as a career very late but having parents who were already known singers helped him as he drew inspiration from them.

GUWAHATI: From an ordinary Assamese boy to finding his calling in music, Angaraaj Papon Mahanta has established himself as one of the most soulful singers of the country.

The talented singer shared his success story at the Signature Start-Up Masterclass, which was recently organised at Vivanta by Taj in Guwahati to provide a platform for those fervent to pursue their passion as a profession.

Papon stated that he ventured into music as a career very late but having parents who were already known singers helped him as he drew inspiration from them.

He moved to Delhi after school to be an architect and music went from being his home to being a journey and he said that for a long time he was detached from the world of music in search of his own identity but soon returned to the fold of music.

“My parents will always be my inspiration. Besides that, music itself is an inspiration; Nature plays an important role infact. Because if we are attached with nature we tend to find ourselves and discover life and finally stories are made based on people’s life, and music is composed accordingly,” Papon said.

When asked about his future projects, Papon said that he is working on few projects, which include international sound space and pop space and at the same time he is venturing into a totally opposite genre of ghazals adding that a big project is on the cards.

The event saw a series of performances by Papon, where he thrilled the crowd with some of his popular numbers like ‘Kyun Na Hum Tum’ from the movie ‘Barfi’ and many more.
