MUMBAI: Bollywood film ‘India Lockdown’ written by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, and directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, will explore the lives of four characters, and how the unforeseen situation causes turbulence in their lives.

The trailer relives the early-Covid lockdown days, as everyone tried to adjust to the ‘new normal’. The empty roads, masks, and medicos in PPE kits -- the visuals seem like watching a nightmare come alive.

26-years-old former Miss India International Ayeesha S Aiman is one of the faces in India Lockdown.

She says, “I have grown up around engineers, cops and lawyers in my house. So, I didn’t know much about films. I was happily pursuing my Aeronautical Engineering and wanted to join NASA. Then suddenly, Miss India. I went to represent India at Miss International and thought I would go back to my studies once the contract gets over. But sometimes, destiny has bigger plans for you. Normally, beauty pageant winners make their debut in glam roles, but I opted for a very strong role where I almost carried no make-up look. For my Bollywood debut, I wanted to choose something different. Hence, there was no better opportunity than India Lockdown. This story touches lives of everyone. I couldn’t have possibly wished for more. Now, I eagerly wait for the audience’s feedback”.

India lockdown depicts the horrifying visuals of migrant workers, including their young children walking on roads. It also touches upon the plight of sex workers during the pandemic. The film will bring the tales of how lives were changed ‘irreversibly’ for many.

India Lockdown had premiered at IFFI Goa on Nov 21.
